MONTICELLO

We really felt so lucky to be at Monticello the home of Thomas Jefferson. It was an amazing tour. The rich architecture, the fabulous furnishings, the craftsmenship was amazing, glorious gardens, and plentiful plantation. A real American Treaure! We all enjoy each aspect of the day. A great beginning to a week of celebration of our country's independence celebration. Our tour began with the reading of part of the Declaration on the front steps of the Home as a tour group. A real spirit of legacy left for us to enjoy.

D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA

This was a neat memorial for all soldiers lost on D-Day. A very impressive memorial. Bradley and I did the walking tour while Mark, Zach and Morgan took the detailed tour with a guide. The pictures say it all as it was a very reverent place in a beautiful part of the country.

Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway

This was a beautiful site even in the rain. I am so glad I can share these photos with everyone viewing our blog. Hope you enjoy the beauty of the Mill.

On the road again!

We left Sunday afteroon for our trip up north. It was a beautiful drive but we did encounter some heavy (can't see the road) rain. We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway and managed to see some of the clear views along the way. We fell in love with with the beauty of Virginia. Enjoy some of the views. We stayed our first night in Roanoke.

Plans for the Fourth of July

Mark managed to get some time off work during the Fourth of July so we have decided to take off to Washington DC for the week of Celebration. Call us crazy but it should be a memorable event for us. We are driving up not sure if the gas will cost more than the hotel we reserved but it's still less than flying. We are all excited! Our hotel is right next to the Mall where they let the fireworks over the Reflecting Pool. Heard we need to take lots of water and bug juice. Can't wait to share the picture with yawl! Congrats to Chad and Jacille on the new little girl that has come to their family. She is adorable can't wait to hold her.

Goodbye Elementary School! Happy Graduation! Report Cards are in!

Morgan graduated from Elementary school!!! She was so excited. Here are a few pictures of her special night. Way to go Morgan. She was awarded the following awards. A Honor Roll 4th Quarter, Safety Patrol, Most Improved Student, WTCS News Reporter Award, and the President Education Award. We are so proud of her. Our family and Judy (kids adopted Grandma here in NC and fabulous neighbor) went to watch the celebration. Way to Go Morgan. It was a great year. Thank you Mr. Richardson (pictured with his wife and Morgan)!

Congratulations to Zach his report card arrived in the mail with his testing results. It's a A/B all year Honor Roll! Testing results, once again over the top! Sounds like celebration is needed.

WEEKEND EVENING ON THE LAKE

We thought we'd go out on the kayaks! Our neighbor Judy came along too as we all piled into the truck for a fun evening on the lake. The water was like a bathtub but we had fun anyways and the sunset was beautiful. Tempatures are breaking records here with the heat wave.

HUG AND HELLO TO SOME FAMILY AND COUPLE FRIENDS

We were able to run up to Sacramento for a few hours and pay a hug and hello stop to family and pick up some left items from February's trip at friends homes (thankfully home since I didn't call anyone). Here is a few fun family moments. We wish we had more time to see everyone. Mom glad you are feeling better after your surgery. Missed the Beford gang and Marks family (as two of the three are in Europe). I think we spent more time on the trip up and back then actually visiting everyone so as you see not much time.

Monday's McKesson Tour and Award

We took off for the morning tour of McKesson and the Awards luncheon. I was hesitant to take my camera but I'm grateful I did. It was amazing! We met at the McKesson Post Street building for the tour and continued onto the Bank of America Building on the 52nd floor. The views were amazing of the Bay and City. Another beautiful day and we were extremely lucky with the weather as all know how coastal weather can be at times (foggy and over cast). It was a very nice afternoon with a fabulous lunch and conversations. We were able to meet other employee's of McKesson and hear about each individual accomplishments over the past year. It's neat to see the company vision of where McKesson is heading. It's the 175th Anniversary. Thank you McKesson for a wonderful weekend!
